Kirsti Klette is a professor at the Department of Teacher Education and School Research, University of Oslo. Her research interests include research on teaching and learning, teacher quality, classroom studies and comparative teacher education. She has been the principal investigator for several international and comparative projects.

Professor Klette is the Director of the Research group Studies of Instruction across Subjects and Competences (SISCO) at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, she is the leader of the TeachingLearningVideoLab Oslo and she is the newly appointed director of the Kirsti Klette is a Professor at the Department of Education and School Research, University of Oslo. Her research interests are classroom research and methodological issues tied to how instructional quality can be systematically investigated, in particular by using video observation and different coding manuals.
